  • Sol Milne, PhD

    SCIENTIFIC COORDINATOR & DIRECTOR

    Sol is a conservation biologist, who uses aerial surveying to empower communities to protect their environments.

    Sol has a PhD background in tropical forest ecology through aerial monitoring, and has since specialised on aerial monitoring of marine habitats. He is passionate about using drone technology to learn more about how human activity affects different ecosystems.

  • Kat Mason

    SENIOR SCIENTIST & MARINE MEGAFAUNA SPECIALIST

    Kat is a marine biologist, shark biologist, scientific diver and commercial drone pilot, specialising in non-invasive techniques to monitor and conserve elasmobranchs.

    Kat’s scientific background includes using drones, Baited Remote Underwater Video Systems (BRUVS) and non-invasive tags to study marine megafauna around the world.

    Kat is extremely passionate about marine conservation and spends as much time as she can in the water.

  • Tania Kanchanarak

    PRINCIPAL ECOLOGIST, THAILAND

    Tania is an ecologist based in Thailand with experience in modelling species’ dynamics to land use changes and forest restoration in Southeast Asia.

    Tania was born in Thailand and is focused on conservation issues within the country.

GGGI is the world’s largest cross stakeholder alliance committed to driving solutions to the problem of lost, abandoned and discarded fishing gear.
We have been working with GGGI since 2019, across South East Asia and the Caribbean, developing vital tools to locate and remove gear.
